Stars Visible to the Naked Eye (AKA. 3600+ Hand Dipped Pins)

In alignment with “Studio Topography,” this piece was a part of my senior thesis, Creatures of Habit, which explored themes of repetition, habits, and obsession. While this piece originally was showcased as a map of stars visible to the naked eye, it was really an example of obsession, as I spent an entire week hand dipping 3600+ yellow pins into black paint to change the color.
