Seven Months

Seven Months is a series of seven 4"x6" etchings that record accumulating marks made by my habit of throwing my purse and bags into my car. In order to catch and record the marks, I placed an etching plate in the passenger seat. Every time I threw my bags onto the seat, they hit the plate and scratched or chipped marks into it. At the end of every month I removed, etched, printed, recoated, and replaced the plate back in my car.

The series is a part of the larger body of work, Creatures of Habit, which examines how patterns, habits and records interact with the human desire to find fulfillment.
