Ketchikan, Alaska: Salmon & Dust

Catch-a-can

As soon as we arrived in Ketchikan we were informed that the area was in the midst of a drought. Turns out, it hadn't rained in a whole 10 days! Oh, the horror. However, our scoffs turned to coughs when we went on an Adventure Kart excursion and spent the whole time enveloped in a thick cloud of dust. 

There was also a lot of canned salmon, which I had never seen before. I instantly gravitated towards the colorful stacked cans!

P.S. Please take note of the helicopter casually parked next to a house. It is one of my favorite photographs from the entire trip, mainly because of its picturesque absurdity.
